Social bookmarking is a tool use to help discover and share content from anywhere on the web. Imagine creating a web page, filling it with great content and interesting images, you then work hard on making the page Search Engine Friendly and it ranks fairly well on a search engine like Google. When a visitor finds your page you want to make it easy for them to spread the word about that page, this is where Social Bookmarking comes in by providing an easy way of doing this. Essentially Social Bookmarks are a way of tagging a website and saving it for later, but with the added bonus that those tags can be accessed from anywhere on the internet allowing a visitor to share them with friends and family.

Integrating a Social Bookmarking system within your website will undoubtedly help boost traffic and increase the chances of repeat visits to your web pages. Search engines have been widely used to find content on the internet but as we all know it can feel like finding a needle in a hay stack, bookmarking sites can be a great way for an end user or target audience to stumble across your site in a more direct way as the tagging of your site is much better categorised.
